 1862-1925. Taught for 20 years at Eton, returned to Cambridge in 1904. Poet, one of three brothers who were all successful writers. Rupert Brooke came to his rooms at Magdalene College Cambridge on 9th November 1910 to discuss Rupert trying for his Fellowship at Kings College Cambridge. A C wrote the lyrics of 'Land of Hope and Glory" Friday 30th November 1906, Benson was in the audience of Eumenides in which Rupert Brooke played a herald, Benson records the comment "A herald made a pretty figure'.
