 1887-1969. Full title Lady Violet, Baroness Asquith of Yarnbury (created life peer in 1964), (Mrs Bonham- Carter she married Sir Maurice Bonham-Carter (died 1960) in 1915, he was a scientist and civil servant. She was a Liberal Politician, her father Herbert Henry Asquith was Prime Minister 1908-1916, her mother was his first wife. She was also a publicist, governor of the BBC 1941-1946. Wrote 'Winston Churchill as I Knew Him ' in 1965. Her son Mark (1922-) became director of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in 1958.
