She left her husband Frank Costelloe to live in Italy with her lover the poet Bernhard Berenson, Frank died on 22 Dec 1899, she married Berenson in 1900. She was mother of Ray Costelloe who went on to become the 2nd wife of Oliver Strachey, and Karin who married Adrian Stephen. |
