Biographical Details and Notes
When his father (Rev. Richard Garnett) died Panizzi offered the sixteen year old Richard Garnett a position within the British Museum, so continuing the Garnett family's work within the Reading Room.
Rev Richard Garnett had catalogued the books in the Reading Room up to the letter S. He was also fluent in many European languages as well as Hebrew and Sanscrit.
